Yes, another birthday in the house! David had asked Riot where she wanted to go out to eat on her BD night, but she said just surprise her. So, David came up with a little game to have both of them write on a sticky note three places they wanted to go, then whatever matched up is where they would go. It turned out all three on each list matched! Korean BBQ, Shucker's (seafood), and Outback. Riot knows David doesn't really like Korean BBQ, so she decided not to go there. Since there were two places left, she told David to just pick one and drive there. He decided to take Riot to Outback Steakhouse instead of Shucker's Oyster Bar because he knew that, since Riot did not have her Thai spicy sauce for the oysters and fish, she would not enjoy the food that much! See, he does remember some small, important details...sometimes.

We had a great time. Riot treated herself by ordering a frozen margarita. She probably drank only a quarter of the glass - she didn't want to get drunk! And Outback gives free hot fudge sundaes for birthdays. We ended the night by going to Barnes & Noble to read magazines and relax. We used to do that a lot before we had kids, but now it feels like a treat for us!

Kids and Gade made family clock for Riot's birthday present.

Love,
David, Riot, Anya and Aden

Oh Wow!! That's really thoughtful of him. If I play this game with Michael, his answer would be Thai food, Thai food, and Thai food. That's all he know I think.
