B for Blueberry

This was our second year of blueberry picking. We liked them so much from last year’s picking that we knew we needed to pick a lot more this year. David’s goal is 75 lbs based on a maximum usage rate of 2 pints per week…Riot is not sure his math is accurate…
This year we went to a new place closer to our house. There were about 30 very large bushes that produce huge amounts of blueberries. It took us less than 45 minutes to pick 10 lbs. We could have picked a lot more, but it got too hot for the kids. We will go back next week to pick more as we saw a lot of berries that were not quite ripe yet.
One thing that impressed us about this place was they use the honor system. You pick your blueberries (or tomatoes, melons, etc), weigh them, and then put the money in a box – no one is there to collect your money.
Anya helped out, as usual. As for Aden, he is still only interested in eating them. We guesstimate he probably ate about half of a pint right off the bushes!
