The other morning, Riot was cleaning up outside and spotted a toy bucket that had a big crack in it. It was due to rainwater having frozen overnight. She took it inside to show the kids. They kept touching it and were very excited about it, especially Aden. He tried to get the leaves that were trapped inside the ice. Even Sobe was curious and licked the ice a few times.
We decided to do an experiment. We told the kids we would keep the bucket in the house and see what happened. At the end of the day, less than half of the ice had melted. Then, we put it back outside at night. By the next morning, it turned to ice again. Anya seemed to get the idea behind water, ice, and temperature, but Aden was just excited to see ice again.
