4th of July at Harkers Island‏

We spent our 4th of July with the Thai Villa crew at Harkers Island. It is a major boat building center with a permanent population of approximately 2000 people, but that number swells during the summer and fall fishing seasons. Located off North Carolina's central "Crystal Coast," Harkers Island is near the cities of Beaufort, Atlantic Beach and Morehead City.

Day 1: Fishing trip for the adults and aquarium visit for the kids.

David and friends boarded the Carolina Princess for a fishing trip very early in the morning. It was a rough water day and all of them got seasick. They got a good number of fish: red snapper, triggers, seabass, etc. We saved them for the 4th of July cookout.




Riot took the kids to the North Carolina Aquarium at Pine Knoll Shores. Anya and Aden loved watching river otter jumped in and out of the water. They were fascinated by the shark. Anya was afraid of the stingray at first, but she worked up her courage and finally touched it.
