The weekend after TACAS Chinese New Year Festival, Anya's Chinese school arranged a potluck Chinese New Year luncheon. Each family brought one dish or more to share with their classmate’s families. We brought chicken satay with peanut sauce (a popular Thai dish) and pig-in-a-blanket. The satay was in high demand – before the end of the event, the satay was all gone!
There were a few performances: Lion Dance, folk songs, Children's Choir (this was Anya's performance), Adult Choir, Chinese Yo-Yo, umbrella dance, and Shadow Puppets.
An added bonus was that we won a prize! We got $10 in red envelop when our raffle ticket was drawn.
