We went to the State Fair couple week ago for fair food and exhibitions. We saw a few animals – cows, mostly. The kids liked the Pretend Market sponsored by NC Farm Bureau the most. Each kid got a bucket and they ‘picked’ fruits and vegetables then got to ‘sell’ them at the market. The money they got was redeemed for a gift bag of NC made products. It was good hands-on experience.

We went to David's must-stop place – the Mt. Olive pickle stand – where he got the only thing he comes to the fair for: a 50-cent kosher dill pickle. Riot has a long love for funnel cake, so we always get one at the fair, but this year the kids ate so much of it we got a second one, along with roasted corn-on-the-cob.

Love,
David, Riot, Anya and Aden

The pretend market seemed fun! I didn't see that. But again there were tons of people the day we went. Need to go during the weekday to enjoy it better. Nice pics.
mmm~ I love pickles, probably not my favorite at the fair but they are good!! were those giant pumpkins real?
