After moving into our house over 8 years ago, we planted two apple trees; a Braeburn and a Yellow (for cross-pollination). Unfortunately, the fruit has never really grown to full term. They were either eaten by some insects or got hit by disease. This year, they both produced a lot of fruit - too much, in fact. The Yellow apple tree had a big branch break because it was weighed down by too much fruit and a big wind-storm broke it. We didn't want that to happen to the Braeburns tree so we harvested as many as needed to try and protect the branches. Most of the ones we got were red, but still a little small. They don't really have any taste, yet :-(
We made an apple tart from ~3 apples, but we still have a big mixing bowl full of apple slices. We need to come up with some ideas on what to make with them. Please let us know if you have a favorite recipe.

Love,
