Yellow-and-black Garden Spider‏

Almost a month ago, Anya spotted a big spider outside our back door. At first she was a little afraid of such a big spider, but she has always loved animals of all sizes and wanted to touch it, which she did after a couple days of watch it. We did some research and found out it is a Black-and-Yellow Garden Spider or Argiope aurantia. It is so big and colorful! We just let it alone and then about 2 weeks later we saw her making an egg sack next to her web and then a week after that she made another egg sack. We are now looking forward to having a lot of itsy bitsy spiders next year! She was very smart in picking the location of her web. It is right next to the outside bulb that attracts a lot of bugs at night time. If you want to know more information about this spider, please click this link http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Argiope_aurantia.

Love,
David, Riot, Anya and Aden
