We found a very friendly chipmunk at our hotel. It would eat from our hands - the kids loved it!

After spending half a day shopping at the flagship L.L. Bean store as well as The North Face and Patagonia outlets, we drove through the White Mountain National Forest in NH. Just for fun, we stopped at the Appalachian Trail and let the kids walk on it for a little ways.

We also stopped for pictures at the famous Mount Washington Hotel. The Mount Washington Hotel opened in 1902 near Mount Washington in Carroll, NH. The hotel was constructed at a cost of $1.7 million dollars by Joseph Stickney. It is one of the last surviving grand hotels in the White Mountains and includes an 18-hole Donald Ross-designed golf course as well as a 9-hole course on its facilities. It was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1986.

David, Riot, Anya and Aden
