A couple weekends ago, Riot took the kids to Historic Yates Mill County Park (http://www.ncsu.edu/project/yates-mill/home.htm) for the Green Corn Festival. The festival was celebrated by a variety of Native American groups in the late summer to early fall when corn was ripening on the stalk. They enjoyed storytelling, games, and other activities.
Yates Mill is a fully restored, circa 1756 gristmill. Besides being full of history, Yates Mill Park also yields beautiful scenery. Riot had wanted to go there for a long time and this was a perfect opportunity. We only stayed there for the Mill tour and a short walk around the park. It was getting hot and the kids were hungry so we left.

Love,
David, Riot, Anya and Aden

Great pictures. I've been thinking of going there to take our family pictures there this year.
